RV Friendly Towns Tasmania

The RV-friendly town (RVFT) status is currently held by 300 towns across the country and with some 45 right in Tasmania. Tasmania is well-suited with respect of towns that are RV Friendly – Recreational Vehicles, such as caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers and caravans. There are towns located all over the state of Tasmania with a range of options for overnight and longer stays at no cost, or at a very low overnight rate. RV travel and tourism is growing in popularity more and more popular in Australia, and Tasmania has identified the benefits and opportunities that flow from increased visitor numbers in this area and have identified the need to promote and facilitate the RV lifestyle across the island state of Tasmania. The RV Friendly Town scheme is an initiative of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia and is provided to help caravanners to identify small towns so that they can plan their holiday. To qualify as RV Friendly, a town must offer a range of services including a 24-hour medical service or pharmacy, mechanical services or a service centre that can offer basic vehicle repairs, access to a visitor information centre and a town map, potable water and a dump station and long-term parking close to the town centre. RV friendly towns display a distinctive sign near its town border and beside main entry routes into the town. See RV Friendly Towns Tasmania
