Twelve Stones Restaurant Pontville Tasmania
Twelve Stones Restaurant Pontville Tasmania

On a drizzly Saturday morning in Hobart, we thought we’d try the relatively new Twelve Stones restaurant at Pontville. This old Uniting Church as built in 1874 and has been tastefully renovated with modern, quality fittings but whilst maintaining the character of the original structure. We arrived around 9:30am to be greeted by a full carpark and a full restaurant – we hadn’t booked! Lesson number 1, book if you are planning a weekend breakfast at Twelve Stones.

The service was fantastic, and quickly staff found us a table.

One of the things we enjoyed about Twelve Stones, apart from the very sumptuous and well-priced breakfast that is, is the ample room inside. Tables are well set out, and whilst it can comfortably seat around 65 persons, you don’t feel at all cramped. It was nice to be able to sit as a family and talk and not have to listen to every other conversation in the room, or feel as though the people on the adjoining table are sitting on your lap!

It was busy and our meals did take a little longer than you’d perhaps expect, however it didn’t matter as we sipped coffee and chatted while we waited. This won’t be our last trip to Tweleve Stones; next time we’ll try the inviting lunch menu.
